Draft Joint Biometrics Strategy - Vision and Aim

Vision: To collect and use biometric data in policing in an ethical, lawful and transparent manner. To ensure public trust and confidence in the use of biometrics, upholding individuals’ rights while maintaining law and order to keep the public of Scotland safe.

Aim: Drive change through continuous improvement, regulatory assurance and improving organisational awareness. Ensure horizon scanning to maximise our responsible use of biometric data and technological advances to keep our communities safe from harm whilst maintaining or enhancing public trust and confidence in the legitimacy of our approach.
