Estates Consultation: Baillieston
Results updated 26 Jun 2024
Police Scotland has confirmed plans for Baillieston police station.
Following public consultation, a decision has been made to close the public counter at Baillieston police station, although the building will be maintained for policing purposes.
Local policing officers will continue to support Baillieston and the surrounding areas as they do now. Officers will deploy from Shettleston police station which is approximately two and half miles away and the front counter is open from 7am to 12am, seven days a week and will be accessible to members of the public. While operational officers will not deploy from Baillieston station, the building will be maintained for policing purposes.
Where our officers are based is simply where they start their shift. With investment in our fleet and digital technology, our officers are now fully mobile to be able to police the local area without the need for multiple bases in close proximity. This means they have little need to return to the office, allowing them to be more present and responsive in the communities we serve.
