Estates Consultation: Paisley
Results updated 13 May 2025
Thank you for your interest and engagement in the Police Scotland estate and changes proposed.
In December 2023 we launched public consultations on the proposed disposal of a number of police stations, including Paisley.
Since launching the consultation, further work has been undertaken internally to review and consider what our wider estate requirements will be for the future.
We want an estate that enables modern policing, supports the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the communities we serve and reduces long term operating costs.
In November 2024 the Scottish Police Authority endorsed Police Scotland’s Estates Masterplan, a 10-year estates transformation programme that sets out our strategic intent for each building and most importantly enables us to prioritise that work. Shortly after the Scottish Government indicated that funding would be provided to support its implementation.
We recognise the need for a local policing service for the people of Paisley and its surrounding towns and a police presence in the area will continue. However, the current station at Paisley is not fit for purpose for modern policing.
We are committed to creating an estate that is best for our officers and staff, meets our operational requirements and supports for the communities we serve.
Until a replacement solution is identified, Police Scotland will make any necessary repairs to the current station in Paisley to ensure it continues to meet health and safety requirements.
A copy of the estates masterplan document as provided to the SPA Board in November 2024 can be found on the SPA website.
