I think this an accurate assesment of the challenges in the future. Unfortunately on the advent of reform instead of looking at each of the legacy forces and what they did best and try to achieve this, throughout the new Force in certain areas and particularly in Redacted text we have probably gone backwards about 15 years and the style of command initially back by 30 years with Officers and staff not being empowered to make decisions

Please tell us why you think this is the right or wrong approach?
There are far to many Police Officers carrying out tasks which can be completed by Police Staff at a far more reduced cost. Get Police Officers policing. For example far too many Police Officers are being used in Control Rooms. Properly trained Support Staff can more than adequately carry out these roles.

We would welcome any views you have.
The title of the Strategy could have been better as a large number of staff will not be here in 2026, it is something we should be aspiring to as soon as possible plus putting a date on it what happens if it is not achieved will this have an adverse effect on Police Scotland
