Maybe it does but so what? This strategy could be transposed to any number of NGOs or social charities but as a POLICE strategy it says nothing about investigating crime then bringing criminals to justice.

Please tell us why you think these are the right or wrong areas of focus?
Nothing about investigating crime. Nothing about bringing criminals to justice. Lots of happy-clappyRedacted text that is already being carried out by any number of public and private charities or social groups.

Please tell us why you think this is the right or wrong approach?
Strongly agree that more use should be made of technology. Strongly disagree that reducing the size of police units which are already chronically understaffed is the way forward.

The public generally is completely ignorant of what goes on in their communities and what police can or cannot do about it - why on earth is "public confidence" therefore deemed a valid measure of success?

Workforce

5. The Policing 2026 strategy highlights that we will need to re-shape our organisation with a workforce focussed on having the right skills and capacity to meet future challenges. Do you agree with this approach?

We would welcome any views you have.
Unlike most of the public I have lengthy and close experience working alongside the police service. Unlike most of the public I am therefore aware of the desperate pressure police officers are under - undermanned shifts, unsafe equipment, next to no support from the Crown service, operational procedures that actively prevent them dealing with dangerous people or protecting the public but then hold the police to blame if anything goes wrong. And it is simply daft to imagine that technology crime can be fought without massive improvement in the police service's own technology resources.
