Please tell us why you think these are the right or wrong areas of focus?
Yes these focus on the key points and will enhace service delivery. Community engagement is by far the key component however, we must ensure that we are inclusive as there is historical evidence of a number of community groups comprising of the same individuals. Engagement has to break down barriers and ensure that everyone has an equal say. In the last ten years the police service has striven to be more inclusive however, some of the local authorities still give primacy to community councils.

Yes as the police , police by consent and have to have community buy in / confidence. It is crucial that the police service increases public confidence as it increases creditbility , cooperation and encourages an inclusive society. There is also a lot of time time expended on complaints that arise from mistrust.

The Scottish Govt imposed police officer establishment has diluted efficency and best value as a number of legacy roles undertaken by police staff are backfilled by officers who do not have the same skill set and in many cases incur 2 x total salary costs. It is crucial that the right people undertake the right jobs.
